This 1984 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole is described as a long-term ownership example fresh from a recent $7,500 full belt change and service. Further said to be very original, it looks fantastic in silver over black–the so-called “Boxer” paint scheme named for the 512BB, and sale includes records, tools, and books. The seller says it runs and drives beautifully, and mileage is quoted as 35k. Find it here on Craigslist in Los Angeles, California for $55k.
About the only visual let down are US spec bumpers, but the car’s timelessly beautiful Pininfarina lines still shine through. The seller notes this color combo’s relative scarcity in comparison to more common reds, and it looks fantastic here, especially with black-painted lower quarters. Condition too appears to be very good throughout, and these GTS Targa top cars look 95% as good as their fully enclosed GTB cousins, with the added benefit of open-air driving.
The interior looks similarly well kept, with obvious flaws limited to some loose-fitting dash leather to the right of what appears to be a period Alpine cassette deck–check out the ad for another cabin photo. Lighting makes it difficult to say for sure, but carpets and leather seem to be black and not navy blue as they register at first glance–too bad, as that’d be a stunning color combo with the silver exterior.
Fresh from a recent $7,500 full belt change and complete service, the engine looks all stock and very tidy as well, with no common paint flaking on the upper intake plenum. The seller says that the car runs and drives beautifully, and the big service means the next owner should be able to enjoy the car for several thousand miles and a few years before having to worry about the next one, and 308’s are known for being relatively easy to work on for well-equipped and competent home garage mechanics.
Here’s a quick look at the included paperwork, manuals, and books.
A factory toolkit is shown as well, and looks to be complete. Colors, condition, spec, and history all point towards this being a good one.
