Flares & Chairs: Fiat 131 Abarth Rally Tribute

This Fiat 131 has been outfitted to make a good looking (if not 100% accurate) Abarth Rally clone, and though apparently road-biased with a largely standard (but very nice and Recaro equipped) interior and OEM fuel injection on its Lampredi twin cam, the car would likely excel as a basis for something a bit more wild. Find it here on eBay in Atlanta, Georgia for $25k OBO.

Said to have been professionally restored at the time of fitment, this Abarth Rally bodykit is likely made of fiberglass, and looks pretty accurate despite a few notable issues. For instance, the green painted recessed panel between front marker lights is a mold blank that should have been cut out, and rear flares should have L-shaped black stone guards running around their integrated vents. Alitalia livery is always cool, funky four-spoke wheels are claimed to be legit Abarth items.

Inside, the car features what must be one of the very best Mirafiori dashboards left in existence, paired with a color-matched and period-correct set of Recaros. Despite some dangling wires beneath the passenger side of the dash, overall it’s a very nice cabin, even if colors are an odd match for the exterior.

The ad notes an “upgraded motor with Webers and full race exhaust,” despite the photo below showing what appears to be a bone-standard, fuel-injected twin cam. Maybe these mods were performed later?

No suspension or brake specs are provided either, but with cosmetics pretty much on-point, the car could make an excellent platform for further tuning, and a big set of Webers would definitely be a great place to start.
