This 1967 Alfa Romeo Spider was acquired by the previous owner from a body shop where the car had been sitting for several years after being abandoned without payment. A 1750cc inline-four was installed at some point in the past in place of the original 1600, and the car had been partially disassembled while it sat at the bodyshop. The previous owner commissioned a local Bay Area mechanic named Daniel Fiorucci to reassemble the car, and it was driven until it was purchased by the current owner in 2012. Additional mechanical updates and deferred maintenance were performed by the current owner, and the car is now reported to be a strong driver on the road. Receipts are available from when the car was reassembled to present, and it is being offered for sale by a friend of the current owner with a clean California title. Currently finished in white, the car was repainted after it was acquired by the previous owner. Various rock chips and other imperfections have been touched up, and an area of cracked paint is present above one of the wheel wells. A new windshield and gasket were installed while with the current owner, and the seller notes that the header for the soft-top is not properly attached to the rest of the top mechanism but can still be closed. A set of 14×6″ Gotti wheels are mounted with a new set of Michelin tires. The black interior fabric presents well, though some wear can be seen on the inner side of the driver’s seat along with a seam that has begun to separate on the seat bottom. The driver’s rubber foot rest has begun to delaminate. Veglia gauges are clear while the emblem on the three-spoke steering wheel has faded. Roughly 91,550 miles are shown on the odometer, though true mileage is unknown. Power comes from a non-original 1750cc inline-four that was installed at an unknown point. A new water pump and a set of Pitatori/Megacycle camshafts were installed while with the current owner, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller notes that 2nd gear takes some care to shift into smoothly. Additional work performed while in the current owner’s care includes ATE 2000 front spindles and brake calipers, new rear brake cylinders, new rear Koni shocks, and a new muffler. Multiple undercarriage photos detailing the condition of the suspension and chassis can be seen below.
