This 1987 Ferrari 328 GTS was sold new in November 1987 by Symbolic Ferrari of La Jolla and remained with its original owner in Southern California until the selling dealer’s recent acquisition. The car shows just 5,594 miles and has received regular servicing according to the seller. Power comes from the numbers-matching 3.2-liter quad-cam V8, and the factory 5-speed transaxle is equipped with a limited-slip differential. After acquiring the car, the seller replaced all engine belts, fluids, and filters, serviced the fuel-injection system, fitted a new water pump, mounted four new tires, and performed a comprehensive safety check. Paint meter readings have been taken around the vehicle to confirm originality of the finish, and the results of a recent compression check are detailed below. This Ferrari is now being offered with the factory books and manuals, maintenance records from new, the original window sticker, and a clean California title. According to the seller, this Ferrari has never been involved in an accident and retains all of its factory paint and panels. To confirm originality of the Rosso Corsa (FER 300/G) finish, a paint meter was used around the vehicle, and the following readings were found (listed in mils): 8.5 – hood 8.5 – top of both front fenders 7.5 – right side fender – side 5.0 – left side fender – side 6.0 – left rear 1/4 6.5 – right rear 1/4 6.0 – right door 6.5 – left door 6.5 – rear deck lid As detailed in the photo gallery, this 328 still wears the original Symbolic Bentley/Rolls Royce plate frame fitted when the car was new. The original owner ensured that the dealer did not mount a font license plate bracket, though the unused unit is included with the sale. When the selling dealer acquired this Ferrari, it was still equipped with the original tires. A new set of four correctly-sized Goodyear Eagle tires have now been fitted, though the space saver spare retains the original tire as detailed in the extensive photo gallery below. Inside, the Beige Connolly leather upholstery shows nicely in these pictures. The seller notes that the floor console’s original pre-delivery protective plastic covering has never been removed. This particular car was factory-prepared with stereo speakers and a power antenna. Prior to delivery, the original owner requested that Symbolic Ferrari install an Alpine 7283 stereo cassette radio and black Ferrari logo floor mats. Both remain with the car today. The odometer displays just 5,594 total miles, which is confirmed as correct based on comprehensive documentation and known history from new. The mid-mounted 3.2-liter V8 is paired to a 5-speed manual transaxle and is claimed to have received regular servicing. All engine belts, fluids, and filters were recently replaced along with the water pump, and the fuel-injection system was also served. A compression check performed by the seller revealed 210, 210, 215, 207, 215, 210, 210, and 212 psi in cylinders 1-8, respectively. A current California emission test will be provided for the next owner if he or she plans to register this Ferrari in-state. Engine number *01747* and gearbox number 1739E are original to this chassis according to the seller. The engine stamping can be seen above, while the gearbox number is shown in the gallery below. The seller has provided comprehensive maintenance history for this Ferrari above. A two-page comprehensive description is also included in the gallery below. Additional detailed undercarriage pictures are displayed in the photo gallery below. The original window sticker was never fitted to the car, and it still has both of the peel-back stickers intact as depicted above. Per the seller, this car carried an original total cost of $79,852.20 including all fees and taxes, plus the dealer-installed radio and floor mats. The seller states that every record, document, receipt, and correspondence from new has been preserved with the vehicle. Additionally, all of the original supplemental delivery items accompany the sale, including the original Ferrari wallet, manuals, warranty card, service books, tool and jack kit, and emergency travel light. None of the tools have ever been used, nor have the jack kit components ever been taken out of their leather pouch to the seller’s knowledge. All of the original coded ignition, door, and antenna keys provided at the time of delivery remain with the vehicle, including the code tag.
