This Lamborghini 350 GT speedometer was acquired by the seller a few years ago at the Padova Motor Show after reportedly being discovered in an auto parts store without ever having been installed in a car. The seller states it was intended for use in a 350 GT, the first production passenger vehicle produced by Lamborghini. Only 120 examples of the Italian grand tourer were made between 1964 to 1966. Built by then British-owned Jaeger Instruments, the gauge registers up to 300 kilometers per hour, and the odometer and trip meter both indicate zero kilometers. This Lamborghini speedometer is now being offered at no reserve in Palermo, Italy. The white needle registers against a black backing featuring light green numbering and 10 km/h gradient markings. A chrome bezel surrounds the clockwise measurements of 20 to 300 km/h. Mileage is measured with a 5-digit odometer and 3-digit trip meter, the latter featuring an additional register for 1/10th of a kilometer. Designed by Paolo Rambaldi, the Lamborghini emblem features a yellow shield behind a white bull, while the Jaeger name can be seen printed above. The backside of the speedometer shows a gold finish and stampings of “87700” and “H4.” Contacts for bulb illumination and a threaded receptacle for a speedometer cable can be seen. A trigger for the trip odometer reset and mounting bracket can be seen above.
