This piece of fitted luggage was made by Schedoni for one of the 272 Ferrari 288 GTOs. This optional bag was constructed with tan leather and a gold cloth interior and was intended to fit the front trunk of the mid-engined Group B homologation car. It is trimmed with dark stitching, equipped with a locking clasp, and embossed with the manufacturer’s name. The seller acquired the item six months ago from the previous owner who reportedly had it in storage since the 1980s. This 288 GTO luggage is now offered at no reserve with a protective cotton bag, luggage tag, and key fob in Battle, England with a bill of sale. The main enclosure features a zipper and an additional exterior pocket is secured with Velcro. A Ferrari prancing horse with the GTO logo are embossed on the front. A wide leather strap connects the front to the back and features a locking clasp with a gold finish. Twin leather handles are attached with rivets and silver-finish rings. Four stub feet are attached to the bottom and are also finished in gold. “Cuoi Schedoni Modena” is stamped on the back. Schedoni has been the official supplier of made-to-measure leather suitcases for Ferrari since 1977. Scuff marks can be seen on the bottom edge. The inside is lined with gold cloth which has deteriorated in some places. Two thin leather straps secure the contents on one side and pockets are fitted to the other. The matching luggage tag features a Ferrari logo embossed on the cover and an additional Schedoni stamping is on the back. The protective yellow cotton bag includes the prancing horse and shows areas of soiling. The leather key fob includes clips for the keys and an additional pad lock.
