This 2.5-liter Lancia Flaminia V6 was reportedly a factory display item that was used by a New York dealership prior to Lancia leaving the US market. The selling dealer acquired the motor from a fellow collector last year and it has recently been cosmetically refurbished, though it is missing internal components and does not run. This Lancia V6 is now being offered at no reserve in Stratford, Connecticut.
Lancia is responsible for the world’s first production V6 engine, which was introduced with the Aurelia B10, and B20 a year later. The all-aluminum power plant utilizes a 60° bank angle and two overhead valves per cylinder. This example is configured for a Flaminia and comes equipped with a single two-barrel Solex carburetor, generator, and fuel pump, as well as a refinished air cleaner and exhaust manifolds.
The seller’s restoration shop has cosmetically refurbished the engine for display purposes only. Closeup photos of the wrinkle-coated valve covers and chrome-plated hardware are provided in the gallery below.
A custom engine stand is also included with the sale.
