This 1958 Abarth 750 Allemano Spider (chassis 616474756) was raced for the last 26 years in VSCCA and a logbook is included. Said to be one of ~300, the car currently runs a 767cc motor and is sold with numerous spares, all of which are listed in the ad. It sounds like there’s enough here to build a few engines at least. Find it here on eBay in Falls Village, Connecticut with a $25k BIN. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
Said to be solid with no rust, the steel chassis wears recent paint while that on the aluminum Allemano body was last done in 1989. The finish does have some chips and though limited angles of the exterior are provided, the car is plenty presentable for a racer. Said to be listed in The Italian Car Registry by John de Boer, its VSCCA history includes races at Mont Tremblant, Pittsburgh, New Hampshire, Pocono and Lime Rock Park as shown below with other Abarth entries.
Aside from the dash and wheel, what little interior furnishings the car has aren’t shown. Both of those previously mentioned are in nice condition though a Sunpro voltmeter appears to have replaced a Veglia unit in the gauge cluster.
With a mild race camshaft and 9:1 compression pistons, the Fiat 600D-sourced 767cc engine runs, but the seller recommends it be rebuilt. It’s mated to a 4-speed gearbox and is also fitted with a high-torque starter motor and an auxiliary radiator, though the latter is only partially installed. Original brakes are included, but four wheel drums from a Fiat 850 are currently installed. Additionally, the car has been lowered, and springs and shocks appear to be new.
Included with “no exceptions” per the seller, the list of spares is extensive. Some of the parts include: eight blocks, 10 cylinder heads, eight crankshafts, 12 cams, four transmissions (two disassembled), various rods, pistons and much more. All extras are currently stored in a 4′ x 8′ x 2′ trailer but the seller says everything will fit in the bed of a pick-up.
The car may need a bit of work, but this seems like it could be a nice buy for an interesting starter vintage racer, especially considering the big spares package.
