This 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint (chassis AR149321711) is a decent-looking project featuring a later Giulia-sourced 1600 twin cam and 5-speed. Though running with new tires, it’s not quite drivable as the brake master cylinder still needs work. Some trim is missing and rust is present, but the car is described as solid overall. Find it here on eBay in Berlin, Connecticut with no reserve and sub $2k bidding at the time of writing.
Originally been finished in Iseo light blue, the car currently wears unsuited pearl effect white paint, which is accompanied by surface rust and bubbling around at least two of the wheel arches. It also looks like the rear bumper was painted silver but is now rusty as well. Hood trim and badging are missing, though fortunately grilles and one of the side marker lenses are included separately.
Though the interior was previously restored, it has since fallen into disrepair again. Carpet is torn and fabric on the dash top has begun peeling, while the radio or blanking plate and ash tray are absent. Seats aren’t fully shown but they look acceptable for a driver, however the removed door cards and interior panels are moldy. Were the car to receive a deserved factory recolor, the interior would be better trimmed in black. Behind the removed rear seat, corrosion is present and the trunk pan is also quite rusty.
Despite a hole in the hood brace, the engine bay looks OK. The car’s original 1300 and 4-speed are long gone, but the running 1600 and matching 5-speed fitted could both be seen as an upgrade. Brakes need master cylinder work, though the wheel cylinders are reportedly good to go.
It’s doubtful that this one will sell for cheap, but with a true no reserve format, this is one to watch.
