This 1993 Ferrari 512 TR is finished in black over a black leather interior and has 27k miles. It is one of just 408 examples delivered new to the US and is reported to have remained with the first owner until 2013, when the selling dealer’s client acquired it for their private collection. Power is provided by the original 4.9-liter flat-twelve paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The last engine-out service was performed ~300 miles ago in 2013 and included a timing belt replacement, a valve adjustment, new camshaft and crankshaft seals, brake fluid change, and more as outlined in the listing below. This 512 is now being offered with a clean Carfax, records from recent service, and a clean New York title. Introduced in 1992 to replace the Testarossa, the 512 TR received numerous styling changes. Among them was an updated nose with a body-colored chin spoiler, a trapezoidal grille opening, front brake ducts, as well as a new engine cover with ventless C-pillars. This example remains finished in its original color, though the seller indicates that paintwork is evident on several panels and notes that the exterior could benefit from a paint-correction and detail. 5-spoke alloys from a F355 replace the factory wheels and come wrapped in a set of Continental Extreme Contact tires. Stopping power is provided with 4-piston aluminum calipers mounted with cross-drilled and vented discs at each corner. The brake fluid was flushed during the 2013 service. Additional photos of the black leather bolstered seats, matching carpet, gated shifter, and leather wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel can be viewed in the gallery below. 27k miles are shown on the six-digit odometer. The car has resided in a private collection for the past 6 years while being driven approximately 300 miles. The 48-valve 4.9-liter flat-twelve is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and differential mounted below the crankcase. The 512 TR received Nikasil cylinder liners, an increased compression ratio, larger valves, redesigned intake and exhaust manifolds, as well as an updated Bosch Motronic engine management system. Factory rated output was raised to 421 hp and 361 lb-ft of torque when new. Universal Autosports of Glen Cove, New York performed an engine-out service in September 2013 at which point both timing belts were replaced, the cam timing was reset, and the valves were adjusted. New camshaft and crankshaft seals, valve cover gaskets, and a reconditioned water pump were installed during reassembly. The single plate clutch was also removed and inspected at this time. The mileage was inaccurately recorded on the invoice as 28,975 instead of the 26,975 shown at this time, and the seller is willing to put interested parties in contact with the shop’s service manager for clarification. Additional photos of the underside can be viewed in the gallery below. The included Carfax records several mileage updates back to 1996, lists one owner between 1996 and 2013, and shows no prior-accidents or damage. The factory tool kit and glove compartment books no longer accompany the car.
