This 1961 Lancia Appia Coupe is one of 785 Series 3 examples designed by Pininfarina and assembled by Carrozzeria Viotti. It was reportedly first registered in Savona, Italy in May 1961 and refurbishment by a previous owner is said to have been completed in 2006. The car is now finished in Celeste Ardenza with an ivory roof over a grey and blue interior. Power is from a 1.1-liter V4 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, and service in the last year included a brake system refurbishment along with a new water pump, new piston rings, and gaskets. This Appia was acquired by the selling dealer in 2018 and is now being offered in Perugia, Italy with recent service records and Italian registration. Designed by Pininfarina, construction of the later Series 3 cars was handled by Carrozzeria Viotti. The Appia PF was steel-bodied and is distinguished by the unique roofline/B-pillar and wraparound rear window. Painted 15″ steel wheels match the roof and wear Lancia hubcaps and Michelin MX tires. The brakes were refurbished in September 2018. Note the Pininfarina badges on the fenders and auxiliary driving lights mounted on the front bumper. The seats are trimmed in grey fabric with blue vinyl backs. Floor mats protect the grey carpets, and the car is equipped with a grey headliner and a black fiberglass dashboard housing an AM radio. The car retains an original black crinkle-finish dash and steering wheel. Veglia instrumentation includes a 160-km/h speedometer, a 5,500-rpm tachometer, and a multi-function gauge for fuel level, water temperature, and oil pressure. The 5-digit odometer shows 9k kilometers (~5,600 miles), and total mileage is unknown. The 1.1-liter narrow-angle V4 is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox, and service in September 2018 included new piston rings, new gaskets, and a new water pump, along with an oil and filter change. The seller reports that the car will receive a new exhaust system prior to the next owner taking delivery. Additional underside photos are available in the gallery below. Recent service records are included in the sale.
